Richard Tatner, Founder of Blue Petrel Consulting, has over twenty years experience working in the oil spill preparedness and response industry. In this time he has responded to over 50 oil spills worldwide including BP’s Deepwater Horizon incident in the Gulf of Mexico.

He has managed and participated in over 200 training courses and exercises around the world, from first responder training in Angola to workshops for senior maritime agency officials in South Korea.

Richard is an International Maritime Organization (IMO) approved consultant, providing services on behalf of the IMO around the world. He also has extensive knowledge in medivac, well control, gas release, bomb and security threats.
